it's a new dawn, it's a new day,

This stunning picture of the valley in front of my house, finally inspired me to blog again! I have been thinking of so many things to write and never getting round to it! Rainbows represent the end of a storm and I guess you could say a new beginning. Now metaphorically we haven't had any storms and I suppose the new beginning is just a fresh view on everyday life! That, and I just wanted to share this picture.

A month ago we we burning hot (Literally) and everything was dead and dry as you can see below. (This is also Neil's new round yard he bought for breaking in his horses..we still have to fill it with sand and put rubber around the inside)
There was talk about cancelling the next tournament and fears of the creek running completely dry and leaving us without water to pump for our home and animals.

Then, suddenly the heavens opened and didn't stop until they gave us what you see now..the same view only a few weeks later. I still cannot believe what a little bit of water can do! Even though we are surrounded by long green grass and water flows in the creek again, they are now calling it a "green drought". fingers crossed we will keep having our daily afternoon storms to get us out of the red.

I know I still have so much more to write but my little possum has just woken from her nap and I have made myself a promise to give her my full attention when she is awake and try to get things done around the house when she is sleeping. We are currently working on our sign language. I am slowly introducing signs to her, I need to perfect them myself and then will try to use them every time we see something or do something that I know the signs for. I can already see how this will improve her language even if she doesn't pick up the signs. (which of course she will, she is a little smarty pants and very attentive) If we weren't learning signs I am sure I would never have thought to be so repetitive and focused on simple words, facing her and saying the words slowly will also show her how to shape her mouth to pronounce the words and with any luck she'll get so sick of me repeating things over and over she'll just say them to keep me quiet!

ps I don't think she is far off crawling either then I will definitely not get anything done while she is awake!
